Sam’s Surgery Date Is Soon!

Sam’s Surgery Date Is Soon!

Dear Family and Friends,

[singlepic id=55 w=320 h=240 float=right] We finally have a date set for Sam’s surgery!  If all goes as planned, his surgery will be on Friday, October 16th.  On October 15th, we’ll bring Sam in for some pre-op procedures, then on the sixteenth, we’ll bring him back at 6 a.m. for the actual surgery.  Until then, we’re in lock-down mode to try and keep him as healthy as possible before his operation.

We’re told that if all goes as planned, Sam will spend a few days in the cardiac ICU, then go to the cardiac step-down unit.  We’re very optimistic that this will be a much shorter hospital stay than in January.

I’d like to ask everyone to keep Sam in your thoughts and prayers.  This will be complex, open heart surgery, and even though we’re fortunate enough to have the best surgeon in the country, Sam needs all the help we can get.  Also, if your church has a prayer list, no matter what denomination it is, please request that he be put on it.  And please feel free to pass this on to everyone you know.  Personally, I’d like to get as many people as possible praying for Sam… the more the better.

In the days after the surgery, I’ll try to keep you all updated on his progress.  Until then, thank you all once again for all of your love, thoughts, prayers, and support.

Love,

George, Laura, Sam and Max

You’re on our prayer list. We love you guys and know that God has big plans for your boys so Sam is in God’s hands. He will take very good care of him while he is away. Good Luck with everything. We’re looking forward to the next update.

I’ll be sharing info with my church and CT Prayer Warriors.
May Sam be filled with His grace and mercy. May the doctor’s hands be guided by His touch. May Laura, Max, and you experience a peace that passes all understanding while you wait patiently for Sam’s surgery and recovery to be done.

From a CD I’m listening to right now. May we keep in mind who’s in charge:

    He is, I understand
    A giant of a man
    And I am not
    His spear appears to be
The size of a small tree
    And all I’ve got
    is a slingshot
    This Philistine is large
But I know who’s in charge

I have a giant of a God, you see
Bigger than the trouble in front of me
    And even nine feet tall
    Starts looking pretty small
Next to the giant of a God with me

    I’ve fought the roaring lion
    Sent the wolves home cryin’
    Ev’ry time
    And with a little faith
    I was not afraid
    The fight was God’s
    Not mine
    This Philistine is large
But I know who’s in charge

Next to the giant of a man with me
    I have a giant of a God with me….

Keep me posted and be filled with His presence.

Our prayers are with you guys and especially little Sam. We’re spreading the word to our family and friends to keep Sam in their prayers as well.

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

    -I Samuel 16:7

Laura and George – Please know that all of my thoughts and prayers are with you and little Sam. (And of course Max.) Sam is so beautiful and sounds so sweet that I just know everything is going to be all right. I have lots of people praying for him, including Julie’s friend who is a minister. Thanks for keeping us all updated. Hopefully the next news we hear will be great news. Be strong and trust in the Lord. All my love, Aunt Nancy
