My Love Life

My Love Life

Geez! You must be really bored! Don’t worry, this won’t take long…

If you must know, I have actually dated a few times since the accident. They were all very good experiences in my opinion. They were women I genuinely cared for and, as far as I know, they didn’t have any issues with my injury. Even though it didn’t always work out, I truly enjoyed the relationships I had with these women, and I think I came away with something positive from each. Hopefully, they did too.

Laura

Then, after I basically stopped trying to meet that special someone, it happened. I wanted someone who is intelligent, has a great sense of humor, a great personality, and most important, is able to deal with my situation at least as well as I do. I found all that and more in Laura. We actually met through this very web site. She’s an elementary school teacher, who found my site while searching for disability info for a student in her class. She e-mailed me, so I returned an e-mail, thanking her and answering her questions. Well, we just continued to e-mail each other, hit it off, and all of a sudden, there was this connection. Neither of us really know exactly how it happened.

I really love everything about Laura. She’s like no one I’ve ever met. I haven’t been this happy in a long time, and I just want it to last forever. Who knows, it could be fate, but we both feel like this is something that is meant to be. She is my special someone, and I can’t imagine my life without her.

In fact, I love her so much, and was so sure she is the one, I asked her to marry me. Fortunately for me, Laura happily agreed to be my wife, and on July 27, 2002, we vowed to spend the rest of our lives together, in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, for as long as we both shall live. I can’t express in any written or verbal form how happy I am that we are sharing our lives together as one. I only hope that anyone reading this has already, or will someday, experience this kind of pure joy.
